EWP Training
By law, EWP operators must have written authorization issued by their employer. Before granting authorization, the employer must ensure the operator has sufficient skills and abilities for safe use. EWP training is a convenient way to verify that the operator has sufficient knowledge of safe operation. As a best practice, employers often require operators to hold an EWP card, proving successfully completed training, before issuing written authorization.

The theoretical part of EWP training covers the basic section essential for the safe use of all platforms. As there are many types of platforms, the EWP card training does not prepare the user for handling a specific model. It is the employer’s responsibility to familiarize the employee with the specific model used at work. Orientation must take into account the workplace, the task, the working environment, and the specific features of the platforms. The theoretical part is most conveniently completed regardless of time and place as online training, instructor-led remote training (webinar), or traditional classroom instruction.
