Occupational Safety Card information can be found in the search service starting from January 2025.
We have compiled a comprehensive Occupational Safety Card guide for you to review or for your organization’s communication regarding the changes, available for download.
The Centre for Occupational Safety will discontinue printed occupational safety cards on January 15, 2025. After the change occurring in mid-January, the validity of a card can be verified via the korttitieto.fi website by presenting a mobile card or, alternatively, through the registry published by the Centre for Occupational Safety.
In January, the Centre for Occupational Safety will publish an open electronic Occupational Safety Card search, where the details of a valid Occupational Safety Card can be checked. The registry displays information on all valid Occupational Safety Cards. The search can be performed by anyone, such as the cardholder themselves or their employer. Occupational Safety Card details can be found using a combination of the cardholder’s name and date of birth.
There must be a legitimate reason to view qualification data and check individuals’ card information. Viewing the data requires strong authentication from the person performing the search. Additionally, the cardholder’s name and date of birth must be known. This is intended to protect the information in the registry from unnecessary viewing.
The registry displays the number of the searched person’s Occupational Safety Card, its validity period, the course sector, and the location where the card was obtained. However, information is not displayed for minors or persons under a non-disclosure order.
In the same context, the delivery of printed Occupational Safety Cards will be discontinued starting from mid-January 2025. The Centre for Occupational Safety offers those who have completed the Occupational Safety Card the opportunity to order a printed Occupational Safety Card at their own expense until 2026, should the person who completed the occupational safety card training still have a need for a printed card. The printed card is replaced by a mobile card, which has already been used alongside the printed card previously.
A person whose information is in the Occupational Safety Card search registry has the right to object to the processing and availability of their data—in practice, to prevent their qualification information from appearing in the occupational safety card search service. If you do not want your information to be publicly visible, you can submit a notification to the email address kortti@ttk.fi. See more detailed instructions for making the notification on the Centre for Occupational Safety’s website. Note: From January 15, 2025, objections will be processed on a case-by-case basis by the Centre for Occupational Safety (excluding minors and those with a non-disclosure order).
