Frequently Asked Questions

We have compiled the most common questions about our services on this page.

General

How do the different training methods—online course, webinar, remote training, and in-person training—differ from each other?

An online course refers to training completed independently online, which includes course materials, assignments, and an exam. The advantage of an online course is that it can be completed at your own pace, regardless of time and location, and all you need is an internet connection and a suitable device, such as a computer, tablet, or mobile phone.
A webinar refers to training delivered via remote connection. The participant joins the training on their own computer using video conferencing software. The training is instructor-led and takes place at a specific time. The advantage of a webinar is the opportunity for interaction with the instructor and other participants.
In-person training refers to instructor-led training that takes place on-site in a classroom or meeting room. The advantage of in-person training is face-to-face interaction and excellent opportunities for practical exercises.
.

Can the training be completed in a language other than Finnish?

We organize training in other languages and with interpretation upon request. Online courses are also available in different language versions. In remote and in-person training, the language of instruction is the specified language, and the participant must have sufficient command of the language to follow the instruction. If necessary, the instructor has the obligation not to grant the qualification to a person who has not understood the training content at a sufficient level. This assessment is made by the instructor.
The use of an interpreter is not possible in remote training. For sign language interpretation, please contact our customer service well in advance.

Is an online course as valid or official as the corresponding in-person training?

Yes, it is. Our online courses cover the same topics as the corresponding in-person training, excluding any practical exercises, which we organize separately on a company- and course-specific basis.

Is this training or card acceptable to the client or our company?

The answer is yes, with certain reservations. Almost all short-term training courses provided in Finland are based on the requirements of the client or employer, rather than any specific law or decree. Consequently, no single training program is more “official” than another. However, for the sake of clarity, some large companies have defined which training programs they accept; therefore, please verify the specific requirements for training and qualifications with your employer or client.
This does not mean, however, that it is irrelevant where you purchase your training or which course you complete. The content of many training programs is based on a requirement or standard that the course content must cover. Employers must also ensure that the training provided enables employees to work safely.

Ordering

Can I order training on behalf of someone else or on a company account?

You can also order training for another person, such as your employee. In this case, enter your own details as the orderer or, if the company is the payer, the company’s details. The training invitation will be sent to the participant, and the invoice to the billing address provided.

Can I order multiple online courses at once?

You can order online courses for as many people as you wish. For larger orders, you are welcome to contact us directly, and we will prepare a quote and assist you with placing the order.

Why have I not received login credentials or a course access link?

After a successful order, you will receive login credentials or a course access link from our system. Particularly with corporate email addresses, email security settings may direct the message to spam or fail to deliver it altogether. If the message is not found in spam either, please contact our customer service.

Why is login not working?

The course participant receives login instructions or an access link via email. If the links in the message do not work, please contact our customer service.

Completing the Training

How is an online course completed?

You can begin completing your ordered online course immediately after placing the order. You go through the training at your own pace, complete the assignments successfully, and the card will be mailed to you after the approved training.
The online course consists of presentation, video, and image materials, along with the instructor’s recorded narration. Learning progress is tested with interim assignments and a final exam, which contain multiple-choice questions. Progression through the course occurs sequentially, one section at a time, and skipping or fast-forwarding sections is not possible. Competence is verified by a final exam, which requires achieving a sufficient score to pass. If the exam is not passed on the first attempt, you can retake it immediately a second time. If needed, you can also review the covered material and find answers to the questions there.

What are the device requirements for completing online and remote training?

The training is completed online using a computer, tablet, or smartphone. The device must allow you to see the image large enough and hear the audio. The internet connection must be fast enough for uninterrupted playback of video material. On a computer, we recommend using the Chrome web browser or the latest versions of other browsers.

To complete remote training, i.e., a webinar, you need a device—a computer, tablet, or mobile phone—as well as an internet connection. Your device must have a working camera and audio connection so that you can communicate with the instructor and the instructor can reach you if necessary. Remote training is conducted using video conferencing software, but you do not need to download any software to your device. The connection also works through a web browser.

I cannot progress in the online course—what should I do?

If the online training does not start or you cannot proceed, please clear your browser’s cache or try a different browser. The speed of your internet connection also affects the functionality of the training.
Clearing the cache in the Chrome browser:
• Open Chrome on your computer.
• Select “More” from the top right corner and then “Delete browsing data”.
• Select a time range, such as “Last hour” or “All time”.
• Select the types of data to be deleted.
• Select “Delete data”.
In other browsers: If you are using Safari, Firefox, or another browser, please check the instructions on its support site.
.

Can I leave the online course unfinished, or do I have to start from the beginning if I log out?

You can take a break or pause the training at any time and return to the point in the course where you left off before the break or pause. Your progress in the course is saved as you complete it.

Why is electronic identification required?

Some online courses require electronic identification. This is mentioned in the information for the course in question. Electronic identification is used to verify the participant’s identity. To perform electronic identification, you need
If you have problems with electronic identification, please contact our customer service.

When can I complete the online course?

You can complete the online course at any time, regardless of location, according to your own schedule, even in parts. The only requirement for completion is that you have a suitable device available and an internet connection.

How long do I have to complete the online course?

The online course is open for completion for 6 months from the order date. Only a course completed to the end is approved, and the resulting qualification is valid. If the online course has closed, please contact our customer service.

How do I get a new password to replace a forgotten one?

You can request a new password on the login page under the “Forgot password?” section. Instructions for resetting the password will be sent to the email address associated with the username.

How long does the training take?

This depends on the training. Most of our online courses take 2–6 hours, but we also offer shorter courses of less than one hour.

Is there an exam in the course?

Typically, our online courses conclude with a final exam, and successful completion of the qualification requires passing the final exam.
In addition, the Occupational Safety Card training and Hot Work Permit training include a final exam.
First aid training courses do not include an exam.

What happens if I do not pass the final exam?

You can retake the final exam of our online courses up to 3 times in total. If all three attempts are failed, you must order and complete the course again.

I completed the online course successfully—what now?

Your completion is recorded in our system, and information about the approved completion is transferred to card printing. You do not need to do anything other than wait for your card to arrive in the mail.

Card and Certificate

Is the approved completion immediately valid, and do I receive a temporary certificate from the course?

A qualification successfully completed to the end is valid immediately. A “Download your certificate” button will appear, allowing you to print a PDF certificate of the successful completion. We will deliver the card by mail in approximately two weeks.

How do I receive the actual card or certificate after completing the training?

The card is mailed to the postal address provided during ordering/registration, on average within two weeks of completing the training. Occasionally, delivery times are longer due to postal transit.

How long is the card and qualification valid?

The validity period of the card and qualification for most of our training courses is 5 years. However, this may vary by course.

My certificate or card for the completed training has not arrived—what should I do?

We deliver the certificate or card to the address provided in the order after the training. If the mailing details were correct and the card still has not arrived, please contact our customer service.

The most common problem situations arise when the card mailing address is given as the company’s address with a person’s name, such as Erkki Esimerkki, Yrityksenkatu 1, 00100 Helsinki. In this case, the postal service interprets that the person does not reside at the address and does not deliver mail there.

We are not responsible for cards lost by the postal service or for incorrectly provided address details, nor for mailings addressed to them. If necessary, we will order a new card at a cost of 15 euros per ordered card. VAT of 24% is added to the price.

For the following training topics, you can also order the card directly online through the umbrella organizations. Ordering cards directly online significantly speeds up card delivery:

• First aid cards: Finnish Red Cross First Aid Ltd
• Occupational safety cards: Finnish Centre for Occupational Safety TTK
• Hot work cards: Finnish National Rescue Association SPEK
.

Can I get a mobile card on my phone for the completion?

Downloading the Occupational Safety Card and Hot Work Permit to your phone is easy in the renewed card information service of the Finnish Centre for Occupational Safety (TTK) and the Finnish National Rescue Association (SPEK). You can get the mobile card quickly and easily on any mobile device. The mobile card is a web page that works in a browser and does not require installing a separate application. The mobile card is personal and easy to use. The mobile card contains the same information as the physical card, from name to validity period.

Go to the korttitieto.fi service website. First, order a password to your email. Enter the email address you provided to TTK for registration when completing the training. Otherwise, request registration by sending a message to kortti@ttk.fi.
.

Is this card valid abroad?

This is case- and course-specific. A Hot Work Permit completed in Finland is valid in Norway and Denmark.
Generally, abroad, the client company defines the requirements for training and its content. In addition, local legislation must be taken into account. Therefore, it is impossible to give a universally valid answer as to whether our training is acceptable abroad.
