Our online Forklift Safety Training is designed for anyone who operates a forklift as part of their job. The course is suitable both for newcomers to working life and for experienced forklift drivers who want to refresh their safety knowledge and best practices. Employer’s written authorization is mandatory for forklift drivers
Forklift operators must have a written authorization issued by their employer. Before granting this authorization, the employer must ensure that the operator has sufficient skills and knowledge to handle a forklift safely. This requirement is set out in Finnish legislation on the safe use and inspection of work equipment.
The law does not define exact training requirements or a national standard for forklift operator instruction. As a result, onboarding practices vary between companies, and in many cases the level of training is insufficient.
For this reason, many employers require forklift operators to complete a recognized forklift safety training course before issuing written authorization. A Forklift Card issued by an external, professional training provider is a practical way to verify that the operator has adequate knowledge of safe forklift operation.

Online Forklift Card course content
The online Forklift Card course meets the legal requirements for forklift operator safety training. It covers safe forklift handling and driving behavior, correct load handling procedures, different types of forklifts and their daily inspection and maintenance. The course also addresses the responsibilities, duties and requirements placed on forklift operators.
The interactive learning experience keeps participants engaged and supports the development of a strong safety mindset. The course includes a final exam. Upon successful completion, participants receive a Forklift Card valid for five years.
