When is the exam taken?<\/h3>\n
The exam is taken at the end of the training day. The exam session is conducted under the instructor’s supervision. In remote training, the camera must remain on throughout the entire exam to enable supervision. <\/p>\n
The basic course lasts 7 hours, so for training starting at 8:00, the exam begins at 3:00 PM. One hour is allocated for completing the exam. The refresher course lasts 4 hours, so for refresher training starting at 8:00, the exam begins at 12:00 PM. <\/p>\n
Typically, answering the exam takes about half an hour.<\/p>\n
If you have participated actively in the instruction, you should not have difficulty passing the exam. The exam covers the topics that were reviewed during the training. <\/p>\n
How is the exam conducted in practice?<\/h3>\n
If you participate in the Occupational Safety Card training remotely as a webinar, the exam is conducted electronically. At the end of an in-person course, the exam can also be taken on paper, although the electronic exam is recommended in this case as well. <\/p>\n
You may also use the course book as an aid during the exam, so you do not need to memorize things.<\/p>\n
Can the exam be taken in different languages?<\/h3>\n
Even if you have participated in Finnish-language training, you can request to take the exam in another language if that is easier for you. And of course, when training is provided in another language, the exam is available in the same language. <\/p>\n
The Occupational Safety Card training, and therefore the exam as well, can be completed in Arabic, English, Polish, Swedish, German, Ukrainian, Russian, or Estonian, among other languages.<\/p>\n
Occupational Safety Card exam content<\/h3>\n
The Occupational Safety Card exam contains true\/false statements. The exam questions are randomized for each exam session, so the exam questions do not repeat identically from one attempt to another. This way, each participant has an individual exam. This aims to eliminate the possibility of cheating. <\/p>\n
Can you get help during the exam?<\/h3>\n
Using the course book is permitted during the exam. You may use the information there when answering exam questions. Using other additional materials during the exam is not permitted. <\/p>\n
The instructor is also there to support you during the exam. So if there are unclear points in the questions, you can ask the instructor for clarification. The instructor can assist, for example, by rephrasing the question in different words to enable understanding. Other assisting persons cannot be used during the exam; it must be completed individually. <\/p>\n
If a participant has challenges related to reading comprehension, such as dyslexia or similar, the exam can be conducted orally. In this case, the exam is conducted individually, separate from other participants. <\/p>\n
What is required to pass the Occupational Safety Card exam? <\/h3>\n
In the exam, you will be asked 27 statements, each of which is significant. The passing threshold is 23 correct answers. Points are not deducted for incorrect answers, and an unanswered statement is interpreted as an incorrect answer. Therefore, answer every statement. The exam is open for fifty minutes. <\/p>\n
When will I receive information about whether I have passed the exam?<\/h3>\n
If you participated in the electronically administered exam, you will receive information immediately after the exam that your performance has been approved. If you participate in in-person training and for some reason want a paper exam form, the instructor will check the exam immediately upon its completion, and you will also receive information about passing the exam right away. <\/p>\n
What happens if I do not pass the exam? Can the Occupational Safety Card exam be retaken? <\/h3>\n
Do not worry; you can attempt to complete the exam again up to two times. Typically, a retake exam session is arranged on the same day shortly after the previous attempt. If you feel that you are not ready to attempt the exam again immediately, you can also participate in a retake exam later, but no more than 3 months from the course date. <\/p>\n
